Basic H2S OPITO (9014) -17th Aug 2026 (12:30 pm to 4:30 pm) Demo

Purpose

To provide learners with the knowledge and understanding required to recognise the hazards and properties of Hydrogen Sulphide (H₂S), understand the use of detection and respiratory protection equipment, and respond appropriately to H₂S-related emergencies.

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this training, the learner will understand:

UNIT: OIS-91

  • LO-1. H₂S Hazards, Emergency Response Actions and Apparatus
  • LO-2. the safe use of essential PPE when dealing with H₂S hazards and emergencies. 

Competency Requirement

Learners who achieve the required learning outcomes will be awarded a Competent (C) outcome. Learners who do not achieve the required learning outcomes will be awarded a Not Yet Competent (NYC) outcome.

Target Audience

Personnel who are, or could be, working in an environment that may become contaminated by Hydrogen Sulphide (H₂S) gas. 

Medical Fitness Declaration

Training and/or assessment activities contained within this Product may include physically demanding and potentially stressful elements. All personnel who participate in such activities must be capable of participating fully.

This training This training includes practical exercises involving H₂S detection equipment and Escape Breathing Apparatus (EBA). Learners must be medically fit and capable of participating fully in all training and assessment activities. Participants are responsible for declaring any current or pre-existing medical condition that may affect their ability to participate safely in the programme.

Venue: Room 108, Mezzanine level, NOC Tower.
Training Duration: 4 Hours
Dress Code: NO coveralls, flip flops, slippers. NO sleeveless or shorts or no Thawb.
PPE Requirement: Safety Shoes.
Important: Kindly note that arriving more than 15 minutes late or being absent will result in automatic removal from the attendance list.
Kindly bring your QID or passport for identification purposes to the NOC reception.
Vehicle Parking: Please note there is no vehicle parking slots for the participants coming for the training inside NOC tower.
